Originating from the Negros Occidental island in the Philippines, Don Papa is a celebration of the ancient Asian tradition of sugar cane farming. It takes its name from a sugar plantation master who became a hero in the Philippines revolution in the 19th century, Dionisio Magbuelas, known as “Papa Isio”.
